You can use this form to indicate that you wish to retain Finnish citizenship if you also have a citizenship in another country and are over 18 years old, but have not yet reached the age of 22. Completion of the form is personal. You cannot submit the form on behalf of someone else. After you have sent the form, check your email for the confirmation message.
Finnish citizens are registered in the Population Information System and are distinguished with a personal identity code. The personal identity code consists of the date of birth, a separator (A) and a randomly formed check-sum (four characters). Example: the personal identity code for a person born on 12 December 2004 could be 121204A959C

Finnish citizens are required to keep their address information up to date in the Population Information System. For example, the notification on the eligibility to vote is sent to the address registered in the Population Information System.
